Cowboys not worried on Barber’s injury

September 12, 2008

The Dallas Morning News has reported that the Cowboys are not concerned about Barber’s injury during week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns. Barber has taken the past couple days off of practice but returned to some position drills wednesday. Head coach Wade Phillips showed little concern over his starting running backs injury but ensured that rookie Felix Jones will be ready to start if needed to. With Jones coming in after Barber’s injury in week 1 and playing like a seasoned veteran the Cowboys look to be in good shape if needed to turn to Jones if Barber can not go on Monday!

Week 1 Win

September 8, 2008
Felix Jones

Felix Jones

The kickoff to the 2008-2009 NFL season for the Dallas Cowboys started off with a bang! With the team looking like they picked up right when they left off last year the Cowboys defeated the Cleveland Browns in a week 1 win of 28-10. Other then having around a dozen penalties called the Cowboys looked sharp on both sides of the ball. One area of concern that can be taken away from the game is the injury to starting running back Marion Barber. Barber left the game with bruised ribs but it does not look like a injurt that will keep him out. Back up rookie running back Felix Jones came into his first career game and was very impressive that included a rushing touchdown. With a positiive performance from both sides of the ball the Cowboys look good moving into week 2 were they will meet division rival and Terrell Owens hater Philadelphia Eagles. This week I will be keeping up with the media and seeing how the progress of Barber and his ribs is and also Quarterback Tony Romo who got stitches in his chin after a hit to the face.

Final Roster moves going into Week 1

September 6, 2008

The Cowboys have announced today from Irvin, Texas that they have acquired Mike Jefferson as there much needed fourth receiver. Jefferson will make his debut against the Cleveland Browns tomorrow. This was a key acqusition because they needed another receiver to go along with there other playmakers at receiver. The Cowboys have also announced that Adam Jones will most likely be in the starting lineup in place of injuried Terence Newman. With both these moves tomorrows game should be very interesting in seeing how these two additions will help out both the offense and defensive game plans.

Media surrounding the Dallas Cowboys 2008-2009 Football Season

September 5, 2008

I will be following the media surrpunding the Dallas Cowboys throughout this coming football season. The hype for the up and coming season that kicks off on Sunday is at a all time high. The cowboys are picked to be a Superbowl contender and have hopes in meeting that goal. This sunday they play the Cleveland Browns in week 1. With both teams expected to be playoff contenders the game should be very exciting and interesting. One aspect of the game that is going to be looked at is the play of Tony Romo and Terrell Owens. Both players were all star selections last year and are expected to start right where they left off last year. If the cowboys defense doesnt come ready to play and put pressure on the Browns offense the season of high hopes for the Cowboys could start off in a week 1 loss.
